Jet2 – Edinburgh and Glasgow – 2008

On 9 September 2008, 2 Jet2 planes had to make unscheduled stops to refuel, causing delays and baggage chaos. These stops were due to high numbers of passengers (about 600 scottish football team supporters) having bought heavy duty free goods.

Flybe – Edinburgh – 2005

On 4 August 2005, a Flybe plane flying from Birmingham to Edinburgh was forced to make an emergency landing at Leeds Bradford International Airport, after smoke was seen in the cabin. The passengers disembarked normally.

On 30 July 2009, a Flybe plane flying from Bergerac (France) to Edinburgh was forced to circle over the Edinburgh airport for more than 20 minutes before landing safely because there was problem with the hydraulic system.
