Vueling – Vienna – 2011

Leave a Comment Monday, May 9hr, a Vueling Airbus A320-200, registration EC-HQJ performing flight VY-8710 from Barcelona,SP (Spain) to Vienna (Austria), was holding at 6000 feet over Lake Neusiedl about 25nm south of Vienna Airport when the aircraft was struck by two lightnings. The crew subsequently continued for a safe landing on Vienna’s runway 11 at 13:50L (11:50Z). According to lightning recordings only two lightings were registered in the region at the time of the incident.

Vueling – Barcelona – 2010
On Appril 26, 2010, a Vueling A320, scheduled to cover the Sevilla-Barcelona route, was forced to make an emergency landing at the Seville San Pablo Airport after a bird was sucked into its right engine during take-off, airport sources said. Sources from Spanish Airports and Air Navigation (AENA) have explained that the incident took place at 16:58 hours, when the pilot requested to return to the departure airport for an emergency landing.

Leave a Comment On 24 August 2008, a Ryanair flight from Bristol to Barcelona has been forced to make an unscheduled landing due to a loss of cabin pressure. The aircraft dropped from 40,000ft to 8,000ft in few minutes, causing ear damages to 16 passengers, without talking of fear. It seems that some of the oxygen masks failed to work, which is denied by the company.
