Ryanair – Kerry – 2010

On december 21 2010, a Ryanair flight registered FR701 which operated from London Stansted to Kerry airport has been evacuated in ermergency, few minutes after landing.  Passengers and the pilot reported smelling fumes and some passengers reported seeing smoke in the cabin. Two people were injured when all passengers exited.

Flybe – Southampton – 2010

On December 9th 2010, an engine door panel fell off a Flybe Dash 8. It  damaged a wing as it was taking off from Southampton Airport. A Similar case has been reported on 22 April 2010.

Ryanair – Girona – 2010

On November 29 2010, a Ryanair 737, which has just landed after a flight from Glasgow to Girona reported smoke in the cockpit as well as in the tail of the plane. Passengers have been disembarked quietly and safely.

Vueling – Sevilla – 2010

On Oct 1st 2010, a Vueling A320 performing flight from Sevilla to Las Palmas  was climbing out of Sevilla when crew detected  a technical problem. After only 5 minutes, pilots decided to go back to Sevilla. The airplane landed safely in Sevilla about 30 minutes after departure.

Wizzair – Luton – 2010

On Jun 26th 2010, a Wizzair A320-200, registration HA-LPB, operating from Budapest to Luton, encountered a problem during its climb. It has been reported problems with the landing gear. Crew decided to return to Budapest where it landed safely.

On Sep 16th 2010, A WizzAir A320-200, which was operating a flight from Gothenburg to Budapest, reported a hydraulic failure while approaching to land at Budapest airport. However, the plane landed safely with 151 passengers on board.

Ryanair – Sevilla – 2010

On November 15th, a Ryanair 737-8 flying from Sevilla to Paris Beauvais (BVA) diverted its course when pilots reported that one of the engines had stopped. The plane went on to land at Madrid Airport. Nobody was injured.

Ryanair – Malta – 2010

On Sep 8th 2010, Ryanair flight FR-3875 operating a flight between Malta and Venice Treviso experienced important turbulences. Two cabin crew members and one passenger were injured. Pilots decided to divert the plane to Bologna, where it landed safely.

EasyJet – Naples – 2010

On Sep 17th 2010, an easyJet A19 flying from Naples and Stansted had to make an emergency landing because the crew detected a smoke smell. The plane returned to Naples only 15 after take off.

On Oct 7th 2010, a Ryanair 737, registred EI-EMB, operating a fight from Stockholm to Dublin met a technical problem. Pilots decided to divert the plane and land to Billund Danish Airport.

Ryanair – Cagliari – 2010

On August 23rd 2010, a B738 from Ryanair operating a flight from Cagliari to Frankfurt Hahn suspended takeoff due to a bird strike. The plane had previously been checked by engineers. Passengers reported that they were kept on board for the next 4 hours

Vueling – Sevilla – 2010

On August 22nd 2010, an A320-200 Vueling flight operating from Federico García Lorca de Granada to Barcelona had to make an emergency landing. A few minutes after take off, a powerful noise was reported by passengers and crew members. It was reported that it was due to a hydraulic failure of the gears. The plane decided to divert to Sevilla and landed safely about 45 minutes after departure.

Ryanair – Santander – 2010

On August 20th 2010, a Ryanair plane had to make an emergency landing after it was forced to shut down one of its engines when a technical problem was identified. The Ryanair B738 plane was operating a flight between Dublin and Santander. The aircraft landed safely. A Ryanair spokesman confirmed that no injuries were recorded.

EasyJet – Milan – 2010

On June 19th, 2010, an easyJet plane operating a flight from Otopeni Airport (Romania) to Milan had to go back to Otopeni a few minutes after departure. The pilot detected a technical problem, 25 minutes into the light, on one engine and decided to go back and land at Otopeni. 149 passengers were on board.

Flybe – Manchester – 2010

On July 29th 2010, Flybe flight BE663 was flying from Manchester for Bournemouth. A few minutes after take off,  the captain announced the plane was having “technical” problems. The captain then announced that the problem had worsened and that he was shutting down an engine. The crew decided to turn back to Manchester and landed safely shortly at Manchester Airport.

Flybe – Leeds – 2010

On Mar 26th 2010, a Flybe plane registred ERJ-190, was flying from Leeds to Belfast when the crew reported an irregular smell in the cockpit shortly after takeoff.  Flybe said that the crew decided to return to Leeds as a precaution. The plane carrying 72 passengers landed safely.

On Mar 25th 2010, A Flybe plane carying 61 passengers and flying from Belfast to Glasgow had a technical problem. It seems that smoke was coming from an engine shortly after takeoff. The crew decided to return to Belfast and landed safely.

Air Berlin – Palma de Mallorca – 2010

On May 29th, 2010, an Air Berlin flight, registered AB7655, from Valencia to Palma de Mallorca had to make an emergency landing due to cabin pressure problems. While the airplane was on approach to Palma Mallorca, two flight attendants began to feel unwell.The airplane landed safely with about 150 passengers on board. Air Berlin has confirmed cabin pressure problems, but still has not found an explanation for the crew’s intoxication.

Ryanair – Valencia – 2010

On May 14th, 2010, a Ryanair Boeing 737-8, which was operating a flight from London Stansted to Alicante was forced to make an emergency landing. Due to poor weather conditions, the plane had decided to land on runway 28 instead of runway 10, as was originally scheduled. However, important winds forced the plane to make a diversion to Valencia. As it approached Valencia, it was forced to declare an emergency landing due to a lack of fuel.  Spanish authorities leading the investigation declared that there was only 910kg of fuel left in the reserves.

Ryanair – Belfast – 2010

On May 11th, 2010, a Ryanair flight from Belfast City Airport to London Stansted had to make a precautionary landing at Belfast City. Ryanair’s 737-8 had to make an emergency landing only 30 minutes after take off. The cabin crew suddenly reported an “acrid smell” in the plane. The plane was one of two that had been left grounded due to the volcanic ash. It was found later that the chemicals used to clean the engines are what caused the smell. The plane finally landed safely.
